In 1990, Jasper Morrison introduced the Universal System, a plywood storage solution with cast-aluminum wheels. At a time when storage systems lacked design focus, Jasper drew inspiration from his experience with the first Apple Mac computer, which enhanced his organizational skills.
Motivated by the idea of “Putting things away so we can find them again,” the Universal System aimed to bring the same order to small items that the computer brought to documents, filling a void in the design landscape with its functional and stylish storage units.
