Originally part of a series of five pieces designed by Marcel Breuer in 1936, the Nesting Tables have been re-issued in 2022 in collaboration with Margaret Howell.
Isokon Plus and Margaret Howell have partnered up for the re-issue of Marcel Breuer’s iconic Nesting Table as a commitment to British craftsmanship and their shared value of simplicity.
According to Isokon Plus at the time the Nesting table was described as ‘the simplest tables ever made’ each table is formed and cut from a single piece of 11mm birch plywood consisting of seven individual 1.5mm layers.
Each table is marked with an Isokon and Margaret Howell branded stamp, to recognise the re-issue and partnership. Available exclusively from Margaret Howell and Isokon Plus.
ISOKON PLUS Furniture Exibition
Currently there is an exhibition in collaboration with Margaret Howell celebrating the history and work of Isokon happening at the Margaret Howell flag ship store in London.
The exhibition displays an array of Isokon’s collection spanning from 1936 to the present day. Designs including those from Marcel Breuer, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby and Jasper Morrison, sit together with moulds and templates from Isokon’s Workshop in Walthamstow, showing the process of how the collection is still made today.
Additionally the 2023 Margaret Howell calendar, also launched last week, features a selection of photography from the Isokon archive 1934-1963. Available in store and online @margarethowellltd

The Isokon Plywood Furniture exhibition continues until the 5th of November at the Margaret Howell Flagship store, London.
The exhibition marks the launch of the 2022 re-issue of Marcel Breuer’s Nesting Tables (1936).
