Date: 1933-39
Designer: Luterma (Manufacturer)
Place of Origin: Tallinn, Estonia
This plywood stool was designed to be very lightweight and portable. The birch has been cut thin but the chair retains strength through its frame made of four legs connected together at the top and bottom. This allows for the user to rest their feet.
The manufacturer, Luterma, was an Estonian furniture studio which worked with pioneering technology for the time. The actual designer is unknown, but their work went on to inspire future works of furniture.
